Pizza Flavored Roasted Tomato Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 12 tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • 1 tbs paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 F “convection roast” setting if you have it.
  2. Gather the dry spices into a small mixing bowl, and stir them up.
  3. Cover the pan with foil for easy cleanup.
  4. Set out a cutting board.
  5. Rinse the tomatoes, and set them onto the cutting board.
  6. Dry the tomatoes with paper towels.
  7. Put on gloves.
  8. Cut out the tomato stems.
  9. Cut the tomatoes into 1 inch “cubes.”
  10. Place them on a cookie sheet — clustered but in a single layer.
  11. Break up any stuck-together pieces with your hands.
  12. Drizzle the tomatoes lightly with olive oil.
  13. Sprinkle the spices on top.
  14. Hand toss the tomatoes to coat them evenly, and then spread them into a flat layer.
  15. Bake at 250 F for 3 hours.
