Ingredients
- 12 tomatoes
- Olive oil
- 1 tbs paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
Tools
- Oven
- Measuring spoons: 1 tbs, 1 tsp, 1/2 tsp
- Small mixing bowl
- Large cookie sheet
- Foil
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Sink
- Paper towels
- Food safe nitrile gloves
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 250 F “convection roast” setting if you have it.
- Gather the dry spices into a small mixing bowl, and stir them up.
- Cover the pan with foil for easy cleanup.
- Set out a cutting board.
- Rinse the tomatoes, and set them onto the cutting board.
- Dry the tomatoes with paper towels.
- Put on gloves.
- Cut out the tomato stems.
- Cut the tomatoes into 1 inch “cubes.”
- Place them on a cookie sheet — clustered but in a single layer.
- Break up any stuck-together pieces with your hands.
- Drizzle the tomatoes lightly with olive oil.
- Sprinkle the spices on top.
- Hand toss the tomatoes to coat them evenly, and then spread them into a flat layer.
- Bake at 250 F for 3 hours.
